About Us

The Institute of Travel & Tourism was set up to raise and maintain professional standards throughout the travel industry and for the benefit of its Members.

Membership of ITT is open to everyone involved in travel and tourism – whether employed by a travel agency, airline, tour operator, hotel, tourist office, car hire company or any other travel related business such as PR, law and marketing.

The Institute also welcomes travel and tourism educators and their students.

ITT provides Members with support and guidance at the same time as encouraging excellence and professionalism.

There are also many opportunities for Members to network and exchange views with industry peers and colleagues created through ITT's popular social and business events.

Joanna Kolatsis, Partner – Hill Dickinson - Biography

Joanna is a Partner with Hill Dickinson and is Co-Head of the Aviation Team working across the Aviation, Travel & Leisure departments of the firm.

Joanna began her legal career as Group Head of Legal for a vertically integrated tour operator in 1998. In 2008 she joined the boutique aviation practice, Gates and Partners before joining Hill Dickinson in 2014. She regularly advises airlines, tour operators, travel agents, destination management companies and hoteliers on all aspects of aviation and travel law. Joanna is a frequent speaker at industry events and contributor to various publications.

Since qualification, she has specialised in the aviation and travel industries. Her advice covers all aspects including airlines, tour operations, distribution and accommodation. Her expertise includes aviation and travel law; commercial and regulatory matters including the Package Travel Directive and ATOL compliance; aviation regulatory issues including passenger rights, EC Regulation 261 and passengers with reduced mobility; disaster and crisis management and general company commercial and contractual matters, including booking terms and conditions, website compliance, charter agreements and complaints handling. Joanna has specific expertise in crisis management and criminalisation in air and travel incidents and she speaks frequently on this topic.

Joanna, who was recently described in Legal 500 as “outstandingly experienced” and “practically perfect” by Chambers and Partners (2013), is frequently invited to speak at industry events and contributes to a number of industry publications.
