Tesla step up the gear for Alder Hey Children’s Charity

Coming to hospital for any child can be a daunting experience, which is why Alder Hey staff seek to reduce the fear and stress for their young patients. Recently Tesla, an automotive company, has joined forces with the charity to provide the hospital with three electric cars for children to play with. These cars provide the young patients with a glimmer of joy and distract them from the medical procedures they face.

At ITT’s 2017 Conference in Sorrento, speaker Hamish Phillips, Tesla’s Corporate Sales Manager for the UK, met Dr Iain Hennessey, a consultant paediatric and neonatal surgeon at Alder Hey Children's Hospital. Our thanks to Avis Budget Group for inviting Hamish to talk to ITT Members at the Conference. It is fantastic to hear that since then, Tesla has supported the charity and made such a huge difference to the lives of its patients and staff.

As a thank you to Tesla, the charity has created a tongue-in cheek ‘Top Gear’ video, showing its young patients driving around the hospital and reviewing the cars. You can watch the video here.
